AvidXchange, a US-based company that provides accounts payable automation software and payment processing for mid-market businesses, has launched an embedded payment system inside Acumatica, a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform used by more than 10,000 companies. The integration means that Acumatica users can now initiate, manage and track supplier payments from within the ERP without switching to a separate application.
The product, called Accounts Payable as a Service, is a fully managed payment solution that AvidXchange has built for embedding inside third-party accounting and ERP systems. Rather than operating as a standalone payment tool, it runs within the host platform's existing interface and workflows. For Acumatica customers, this translates into payment execution, status tracking and cash flow visibility all accessible from the same system they already use for accounting and financial management.
The launch follows AvidXchange's selection as Acumatica's strategic partner for payment automation. The arrangement gives Acumatica's customer base access to AvidXchange's supplier network, which currently includes more than 1.5 million suppliers. AvidXchange manages supplier onboarding, maintains payment preferences for each supplier and provides ongoing support for the supplier side of the relationship, which removes administrative tasks that would otherwise fall on the customer's finance team. New customers can complete digital onboarding and begin sending payments within minutes, according to the company.
The integration also shifts payment methods from manual processes toward digital execution with built-in controls, which addresses both speed and security. Finance teams retain control over payment approvals and timing while the underlying processing, routing and supplier communication are handled by AvidXchange's infrastructure.
"Embedded payments make it easier for finance teams to move quickly and stay in control, without adding complexity," said Michael Praeger, CEO and Co-Founder of AvidXchange. "With this launch, Acumatica customers can manage payments more efficiently within their existing workflows while benefiting from AvidXchange's supplier network and dedicated support."
"Through our partnership with AvidXchange, we're continuing to evolve the Acumatica platform to better support our customers' financial workflows," said John Case, CEO of Acumatica. "With embedded payment automation, customers can simplify payments, improve visibility, and operate more efficiently with a solution designed to work seamlessly within Acumatica."
