Connected Manufacturing, a software company that builds AI-powered tools for regulated manufacturing environments, has launched Connected Manufacturing Agents for Regulated Industries, a set of AI agents that monitor plant data, gather evidence across disconnected systems and route decisions to human reviewers rather than acting on them without oversight.
The agents target a specific operational problem that recurs across regulated manufacturing: quality investigations, yield variance and downtime analysis all require data from multiple systems, including manufacturing execution systems, quality management systems, ERP platforms, PLM databases, maintenance records and supplier documentation, that rarely talk to each other. When a quality event occurs, a technician or engineer typically has to manually pull records from several of these systems before they can even frame the problem. The agents organize that cross-system search into a structured evidence package for a human reviewer rather than replacing the human decision.

The first generation of agents covers five workflow areas: quality, yield, maintenance, downtime and root cause analysis. Each agent operates with role-based access permissions, audit trails and human-in-the-loop checkpoints built into the workflow architecture. The company positions the agents as an orchestration layer across the manufacturing closed loop it describes as Design, Execute, Measure and Improve, with conversational AI handling information retrieval and the agents coordinating cross-system action.
Connected Manufacturing is accepting applications for a 90-Day Design Partner Program, in which qualified manufacturers work with the company on a single, defined use case within a timeboxed engagement. Each engagement specifies the workflow in scope, the approved data sources, access permissions, human review checkpoints and a measurable business outcome. The program targets manufacturers in life sciences, medical devices, aerospace, automotive, electronics and industrial equipment.
