ECI launches AI tool to analyze homebuyer feedback at scale

ECI Software Solutions, a company that makes cloud-based business management software for industries including construction, manufacturing and distribution, has released AvidCX Insights, a tool that uses AI to analyse homebuyer feedback and identify operational issues affecting customer satisfaction. The product is aimed at homebuilders, who collect feedback through reviews, surveys and customer comments that often sit in separate systems and are difficult to act on collectively.

The release comes at a point of margin pressure for homebuilders. Material and labour costs remain volatile, and elevated interest rates have made buyers more selective about their purchases. At the same time, buyers increasingly rely on online reviews and digital research when choosing a builder, which raises the cost of a poor customer experience that shows up publicly.

AvidCX Insights works by aggregating buyer feedback and categorising it into areas of strength and areas of risk, which removes the manual work of sorting through thousands of individual comments. The tool includes a correlation function that identifies which specific survey factors, such as communication during the build or cleanliness at closing, have the most influence on a builder's overall star rating. This allows a builder to direct time and budget toward the issues that most affect their reputation rather than addressing feedback without knowing its relative impact.

The product also provides views at the division and regional level, which lets builders compare performance across markets and identify both strong performers and areas where the buyer experience is slipping. Builders can measure their performance anonymously against a database of homebuilder customer experience trends spanning five years, which helps distinguish whether a decline reflects an internal problem or a broader market shift. A risk signalling function flags emerging negative trends before they escalate into public reviews.

"Every review, survey, and customer comment tells builders something important, but too often that information lives in silos," said Bob Cain, Industry President, Residential Home Construction at ECI Software Solutions. "When you can use practical AI to connect that feedback and see the bigger picture, it becomes easier to focus your time and budget in the right places. That's how you protect your reputation and avoid spending money fixing the same problems over and over."
