BeyondTrust gets first Pan-African distribution partner

BeyondTrust, a cybersecurity company whose Pathfinder Platform covers privileged access management and identity threat detection and response, has signed its first dedicated pan-African distribution agreement, naming Westcon-Comstor as its continent-wide distribution partner. The deal gives channel partners throughout Africa access to BeyondTrust's full portfolio backed by Westcon-Comstor's technical enablement and lifecycle selling support.

Westcon-Comstor, a value-added technology distributor with operations across the Middle East and Africa, already distributes BeyondTrust products in the Asia-Pacific region. The Africa agreement extends that relationship to a market where BeyondTrust has operated for years but lacked a single distribution partner with continent-wide reach.

The Pathfinder Platform consolidates privilege controls across endpoints, cloud, and on-premises environments, covering human identities as well as machine and AI agent access within hybrid infrastructure. Channel partners gain access to the full platform alongside Westcon-Comstor's value-added services, including professional services in AI security, cloud security, PAM, and ITDR, areas that the distributor positions as sources of recurring subscription and renewal revenue.

Rakesh Parbhoo, Executive Vice President, Middle East and Africa at Westcon-Comstor, described the commercial case for the agreement: "This agreement with BeyondTrust gives partners throughout Africa access to a highly relevant security portfolio backed by the technical, commercial and enablement support to build meaningful opportunities around it. In a post-Mythos world, partners need security solutions that meet the demands of the AI era while enabling them to turn capability into packaged, scalable offerings that drive repeatable revenue. Bringing BeyondTrust into our vendor portfolio in Africa supports these requirements perfectly, and we look forward to building an enduring relationship."

For BeyondTrust, the arrangement resolves what the company describes as a gap in its Africa go-to-market structure. John Hathaway, Vice President Sales, META & APJ at BeyondTrust, noted the demand pattern behind the decision: "In our conversations with organisations across Africa, we're seeing identity security rise higher on the agenda than ever before, driven by a more complex threat landscape, growing regulatory pressure and the need to manage privilege more effectively across diverse environments. This partnership gives us a single, continent-wide distribution partner for the first time, and Westcon-Comstor's breadth of coverage, partner focus and security expertise make them ideally placed to help more organisations across Africa gain the privilege controls they need to stay ahead of rising identity-related risk."

Earlier this year, BeyondTrust expanded the Pathfinder Platform to South Africa, India, Singapore, and the UAE, and was subsequently selected to join Project Glasswing, an initiative from Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI systems, to help secure critical digital infrastructure.
