Clea, a stablecoin-powered cross-border payments platform that surpassed $20 million in transaction volume within six months of emerging from stealth in December 2025, released a feature called Vendor Payments. The capability permits African businesses to route funds to international suppliers, vehicle auction platforms and shipping companies.
More than 50 businesses adopted the tool during its pilot phase. The system supports United States dollar payments to selected American suppliers, including vehicle auction platforms Copart and IAA. Verified business customers fund their accounts using naira. They then access foreign currency within the software and execute the transfer. The interface requires users to select a preconfigured vendor profile. After choosing a vendor, clients enter a reference such as a buyer number or an invoice to authorize the transaction.
The company developed the update to reduce the operational complexity required to manage international trade.

The developer will add more payment destinations as the software expands. Future iterations will introduce a vendor network interface where clients can track open invoices and process recurring payments.
