LendingPoint, a fintech focused on consumer credit origination and loan servicing, announced its executive leadership team. Led by Chief Executive Officer Mark Freeman, the team includes Craig Shmoldas as Chief Financial Officer and Roy Russo as Chief Technology Officer. Freeman assumed the CEO role in March 2026 after serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer since August 1, 2025.
Freeman joined LendingPoint in September 2024 as Chief Financial Officer and was named Interim Chief Executive Officer in August 2025. During that period, he led changes to the company’s loan marketplace offerings, launched new forward flow programs and completed a capital raise in the fourth quarter of 2025. He has more than 30 years of financial industry experience, including six years as CFO of Republic Finance and roles at Ocwen Financial Corporation, Banc of America Securities, BMO Capital Markets and other global banks. Freeman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Tulane University.

As Chief Financial Officer, Shmoldas will oversee LendingPoint’s finance organization, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, capital markets and investor relations. He has more than 25 years of experience across consumer lending, capital markets and structured finance. He joins LendingPoint from Santander Holdings USA, where he served as SVP and Head of Asset-Backed Securities. Previously, he was SVP, Treasurer and Head of Capital Markets at Republic Finance and held roles with Santander Consumer USA, BMO Capital Markets and Bank One.

As Chief Technology Officer, Russo will lead LendingPoint’s technology strategy, engineering and product development. He has experience scaling engineering organizations and modernizing platforms in financial services and lending. Previously, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Momnt Technologies, Vice President of Engineering at Verusen and Chief Technology Officer at BlueChip Financial. He has also founded and co-founded companies in the technology and fintech sectors.
