Sentech SOC Ltd, a South African communications infrastructure company, has appointed Flenk Mnisi as chief operating officer effective 18 May 2026, selecting an executive who has spent nearly two decades inside the organization and most recently held the position on an acting basis.
The appointment places an executive with experience across network infrastructure, broadcasting and satellite operations into a role responsible for operational oversight as Sentech continues work tied to satellite communications initiatives.
Mnisi joined Sentech in 2006 as a Technical Manager before moving into leadership positions across the company. He served as Head of Department for Transmission Networks from 2010 to 2019, later becoming Head of Media and Broadcast. He subsequently held the roles of Chief Technology and Information Officer and executive overseeing the satellite business before taking on responsibilities as Chief Commercial Officer for the satellite division while continuing as Acting COO.
His current responsibilities include leading Sentech’s Satellite Communications Launch Project, where he is working with stakeholders including the International Telecommunication Union on satellite spectrum matters and partnerships across the satellite value chain.
