Glovo integrates shopping assistant into ChatGPT and Claude

Glovo, a Barcelona-based multi-category delivery platform known for food and retail delivery across more than 25 countries, has launched a Shopping Assistant integration for ChatGPT and Claude that lets users discover and order products through conversational AI rather than navigating the Glovo app directly. The integration connects Glovo's inventory to both AI platforms through a plugin, so users who sync their accounts can type product requests and receive a visual carousel of up to five available options drawn from local stores near their location.

Each result in the carousel displays the product image, name, store details, ratings and price. Search and discovery happen inside ChatGPT or Claude, but selecting a product redirects the user to the Glovo mobile app or website to complete payment. The AI assistant retains context across a conversation, including constraints the user sets such as budget limits, allowing back-and-forth dialogue before a product is chosen.

Shiro Theuri, Chief Technology Officer at Glovo, framed the integration around where the company wants to meet its users: "We're always looking for ways to meet our customers where they already are. Being available on Claude and ChatGPT means people can discover what Glovo has to offer as part of a natural conversation, with no friction. Glovo has always been about being the everyday app that provides choice and convenience, and this is another step in that direction."

The integration shifts the starting point of a purchase from a search bar or app menu to a conversational prompt. A user asking for a specific product with particular requirements, such as price range, brand preference or dietary specification, gets results that match those parameters rather than browsing category pages to filter manually.

The launch carries open questions on the security and privacy side. Connecting a third-party commerce app to an AI platform involves identity linking and data sharing between services, and Glovo has not disclosed the specific data-handling terms that govern how purchase intent and account information move between the AI platforms and the Glovo backend.
