SeerBit integrates PayPal to give African merchants global payment access

SeerBit, a payments platform that serves merchants across multiple African markets, has integrated PayPal into its checkout infrastructure, giving merchants on its platform access to PayPal's global user base without building a separate integration.

The connection means customers shopping on SeerBit-powered platforms can select PayPal at checkout as an alternative to the local payment methods the platform already supports. For merchants, the integration consolidates transaction management across payment types in a single interface rather than requiring separate reconciliation for international payments.

Omoniyi Kolade, CEO of SeerBit, described the commercial gap the integration addresses: "African businesses have the talent and products to compete globally; the missing link has often been access to trusted, convenient payment options. By integrating PayPal, we're bridging that gap for merchants, helping them build credibility with global customers and making it easier for the world to do business with Africa."

Amir Valliani, Vice President of Global Markets at PayPal, the US-based digital payments company that operates across more than 200 markets, said the partnership targets an expanding segment: "Africa is a fast-growing region for digital commerce, driven by increasing connectivity and a new generation of digitally native businesses. Our integration with SeerBit is important in helping merchants reach more international customers, build trust and support growth beyond their local markets."

SeerBit did not disclose which specific markets are covered under the integration at launch or provide figures on the number of merchants currently on its platform.
